Belturbet Zero Waste installation of Segregated Bins

Standard street bins are a "catch all" where all materials are put in 1 single vessel, meaning that there is contamination of recyclable materials. In an attempt to help our community dispose of their on street waste with re-cycling in mind, BZW worked to secure funding and planning for the installation of 3 new bins around the town.

This refill station has a UV filtration system built in, ensuring the best quality of water for its users. Additionally it has a counter that keeps track of the number of plastic bottles saved by refilling.

Segregated Bin Installation around Belturbet

BZW received grant aid in August 19 from Co Council Discretionary Funds towards purchasing 3 No. new street bins allowing the choice to dispose of recyclable material separately to landfill waste. These are located at The Diamond and the playground at Morrissey Park. Close monitoring has shown a high degree of compliance to date.
